Hydrangea Strong Annabelle P23

Hydrangea Strong Annabelle P23

Hydrangea Strong Annabelle (Hydrangea arborescens Abetwo) is a robust, deciduous shrub famed for its extrasturdy stems that carry exceptionally large, rounded white flowerheads from midsummer into early autumn. Forming a compact, rounded plant to about 1.2m tall and wide, it thrives in sun or light shade and in moist but welldrained, moderately fertile soil, making a dependable choice for Irish gardens. Ideal for mixed borders and woodlandedge planting, the blooms gradually take on soft green tones as they age. For best results, mulch to conserve moisture and water during dry spells; in late winter or early spring, prune back the previous seasons stems to a low, strong framework (around 1525cm) to encourage sturdy new growth and plentiful flowers.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
