Dingley Fly Reel 3″ – Caged Spool

For sale here is a nice Dingley 3″ caged spool fly reel. This highly sought after brass pin caged reel has an early fixed caliper check, which is nicely blued and is adequately strong. Correct original and un-filed smooth brass foot. No line grooves. There are no cracks, just one minor ding in the rim. Original ivorine handle spins freely. No end play or wobble. As with most leaded Dingleys, the majority of the original leading remains on the reel. Reel is stamped D9 inside and 9 on the foot.

For sale here is a Dingley 3″ caged spool fly reel. Right hand retrieve. Smooth brass foot is unaltered and measures 2 1/2″. No cracks, chips, or dings. Pillar/frame line burn but nothing serious. The handle spins freely. No significant wobble but there is a bit of spool/spindle play as is the case with most of the latch design reels. Excellent spring tension. Fixed click.
