CIRSIUM atropurpureum 3L

CIRSIUM atropurpureum 3L

A clump-forming ornamental thistle grown for its deep crimsonpurple, rounded flowerheads held on tall, branching stems in early to mid-summer. Deciduous with spiny, lobed green leaves, it thrives in full sun on reliably moist, fertile soil, making a striking vertical accent in mixed borders and naturalistic plantings. The nectar-rich blooms are excellent for pollinators in Irish gardens.

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
